Beta launch update, 1 week on
A brief summary of where we're at and the issues we are working to resolve.
Seven days ago we opened up the Dominion Dating application form to backers. Since we began onboarding, we have encountered the inevitable teething problems. Thank you to everyone who has reported an issue—and thank you for your patience.
You can see what is currently on deck in our project board:
Our major focus right now is twofold:
The dashboard often has problems saving, or sometimes displaying, information that users input. This makes for a frustrating experience, and it is our top priority. We are particularly aware of problems with image uploads, and with education not being displayed correctly, but we also know that user inputs often lag, and sometimes just give errors.
The pastoral verification process needs refinement, streamlining, and clarification. Some pastors have not received the verification email. Many other users are confused about who we will accept as references, or whether their situations are compatible with our requirements. We are developing a revised application form, along with a detailed explanation of what we will and will not accept, to accommodate as many cases as possible, and to clarify those we cannot.
You can follow our progress on our live project board. Our current milestone is “Clear skies,” so-named for reasons which are hopefully obvious. Our timeframe for this is 3 weeks from now, but we certainly hope to have the dashboard issues solved well before then.
Please don’t be discouraged from applying for membership. Registering now will save your spot on the site, and gives us time to verify your account while we work on fixing bugs. If you haven’t applied to register on the site, hit the button below:
I’ll post another update in a week, or sooner if we have something worth reporting.
Thanks again,
Bnonn (Project Manager)
